Almost any shop can replace a bad part once they know what needs to be done, but the process of going from a warning light on the dash to a plan of action is not that simple.
Modern vehicles are extremely complicated, the days of being able to troubleshoot your car at home with basic equipment are disappearing. Each make we services requires highly specialized software to effectively troubleshoot. For BMW’s we utilize a combination of tools to efficiently diagnose your vehicle. We use ISTA for fault code reading and troubleshooting and ISTA-P for programming. We also utilize Snap On Solus Edge (Darryl?) when appropriate for simpler tasks and datalogging. For Porsche we utilize PIWIS-II, Durametric, and Snap On XXX?
My Service Engine Light is on what does that mean?
The Service Engine Soon light turns on to indicate that the vehicle’s computer has detected an issue with a system of the engine or transmission of the vehicle.

A flashing Service Engine Soon light is an indication of a Catalyst damaging misfire.

We specialize in BMW and Porsche. We take on jobs that even the dealerships do not have the expertise to handle. We utilize the same diagnostic scanner and programming software that is utilized at the dealer. While many other shops use less expensive software we feel that having full dealership capability is a must to fully service the these high end brands.
